Let's talk about "Chiru - The Tibetian Lynx" Introduction The Tibetian Lynx is also known as "Chiru" in Ladakhi Language. Himalayan Lynx is the sub species of Eurasian Lynx. Physical Characteristics They have long, prominent black ear tufts, short black tripped tails. The coat is varied in grey, rusty or yellow fur. There are three main coat patterns: spotted, striped and solid. They have round face and triangle ears. The paws are large and fur covered. Their length is about 70-130 cm.Males are usually larger and heavier than females.  Their weight is about 18-26 kg.   Where you can see Lynx in Ladakh In Ladakh you can view the Tibetan Lynx in Hunder, Panamik and Gya-Miru region of Leh. Most of the people know about Grizzly  bear but very less people know about "Denmo- The Himalayan Bear". Introduction The Himalayan Brown Bear, also known as the Himalayan red bear, isabelline bear or Dzu-Teh, is a subspecies of the brown bear. Physical Characteristics Himalayan brown bears exhibit sexual dimorphism. Males range from 1.5m to 2.2m long, while females are 1.37m to 1.83m long. They are the largest mammals in the Himalayas and are usually sandy or reddish-brown in colour.   The life expectancy for the Himalayan brown bear is around 20-25 years and around 45 years in captivity. Distribution The bears are found in Nepal, Tibet, West China and North India, North Pakistan and South-East Kazakhstan. They are already speculated to have become extinct in Bhutan. Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary   Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area and a project tiger, tiger reserve located 38 km (24 mi). Northwest of Chikkamagaluru town in Karnataka State, India. The Sanctuary gets its name from the Bhadra river, which flows through reserve. Way to reach this sanctuary : there are three routes to reach "Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary"  from Bangalore. Now, we are going to meet India's only one giant ape - "Hoolock Gibbon" Introduction The hoolock gibbons are three primate species of genus Hoolock in the gibbon family, Hylobatidae, native to eastern Bangladesh, Northeast India and Southwest China. Two species of Hoolock Gibbons, Eastern Hoolock Gibbon and Western Hoolock Gibbon have been reported to occur in India. Physical Characteristics Hoolocks are the second largest of the gibbons, after the siamang. They reach a size of 60 to 90 cm and weight 6 to 9 kg.
